Bomba Kryptologiczna Simulator, David Link

This JAVA Applet simulates the operations of the Polish "Bomba Kryptologiczna". The purpose of this machine was to break German strategic communications enciphered on "Enigma".

The Polish device was invented by the Polish mathematicians Marian Rejewski, Henryk Zygalski and Jerzy Rózycki of the German section BS-4 of the Biuro Szyfrów and constructed by the AVA Radio Manufacturing Company ("Wytwórnia Radiotechniczna AVA") in Warsaw in November 1938.

To start to applet, give it focus by clicking on it, then press SPACE. To restart it after a stop has occured, do the same.

The output of Bomba is displayed in the Java Console. On some platforms, the console freezes while bomba is running, but comes back once the machine stops. Please be patient.

This applet is part of an article of mine,
